Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives
Problems We Address
Textile Pollution
Overproduction and overconsumption of textiles, often influenced by fast fashion trends, result in large amounts of textile waste.
Economic Inequality
Women often face economic disadvantages due to a variety of factors, such as the gender pay gap, unequal access to employment opportunities, and a lack of financial independence.
Social and Cultural Stigma
Due to their occupation as waste pickers and the associated poverty, residents of Payatas face social stigma and discrimination. This lead to social isolation and reduced access to opportunities, reinforcing their marginalization.
Our Passionate Solutions
Upcycled Products
By turning discarded textiles into high-quality products, it helps reduce textile pollution by ensuring that these materials don't end up in landfills.
Women Entrepreneurship
Project Payatas PH empowers Payatas' mothers with entrepreneurship opportunities, creating products from recycled textiles. This boosts their financial stability, aids in reducing economic inequality, and inspires other women in the community through their success.
Inclusivity
By integrating local mothers as co-owners and contributors, we reinforce their societal value and challenge negative perceptions. This inclusive approach enhances livelihoods and shifts attitudes within and beyond the Payatas community.
